Ok, it’s not a cake nor does it contain any sugar, but these Cheddar Bay Biscuits are just as addictive and pleasing to the palette!
This is a super easy and quick recipe. I can assure you that you probably have most, if not all, these ingredients already in your pantry. I’m a mom of two toddlers, so I know that working quickly in the kitchen means less time with two Littles hanging on both legs. Not only is this biscuit recipe unbelievably easy, it’s also assembled super quickly, bakes quickly and have I mentioned DELICIOUS?!
Here’s what you’ll need:
2 ½ cups Bisquick baking mix
4 tablespoons cold butter (1/2 stick)
1 ¼ cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
¾ cup cold whole milk
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Brush on Top
2-3 tablespoons butter, melted
¼ teaspoon dried parsley flakes
½ teaspoon garlic powder
pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Combine Bisquick and cold butter using a large fork -or a pastry cutter if you have one. Ideally, you want pea-sized chunks of butter in there. Next add the rest of your biscuit ingredients: sharp cheddar cheese, cold milk and garlic powder. Mix with your hands until combined, but don’t over mix.
Drop about ¼ cup-portions onto an ungreased cookie sheet. I like to use my hands to just keep dividing the dough in half until I have 12 biscuits or you can also use an ice cream scoop to make your portions. I also like to line my cookie sheets with parchment paper or foil for easy clean up.
Bake for about 15-18 minutes or until the tops are light brown.
when the biscuits come out of the oven, melt 2-3 tablespoons of butter in the microwave then stir in parsley flakes, garlic powder and a pinch of salt. Let this sit for about 5 minutes before brushing it over the tops of your freshly baked biscuits. Use ALL of that garlic buttery goodness!! Makes 12 biscuits. Good luck with trying to keep any leftover!
